A star trail captured over Rainbow Valley, Central Australia.
The sandstone bluffs of Rainbow Valley, or Wurre as it is known to the Arrernte people, are mesmerising under starlight. This was my first ever attempt at capturing star trails, with the final image consisting of 480 separate frames, and I am proud of what I was able to produce.
This image was selected as the Winner in the Australian Geographic Nature Photographer of the Year Competition in 2024 and was hung in the South Australian Museum.
